STUDENT BIOS


Jared Adams, born in Kingston, NY and raised across the river in Rhinebeck, grew up with an insatiable need for the spotlight. Finding his way to The College of Saint Rose, Adams became involved in journalistic ventures which coincided with his Public Communications major. He has supplied the layout for 2007 edition of The Sphere and found it to be a favorable experience that will give him much to look back on in the future.

Aliya Allen is a senior English major with hopes of becoming a professor of cultural studies. Currently she has settled for working in a local coffee eatery. She is also an RA on campus and is living in Morris Hall. Between work, school, and serving as an RA, Aliya enjoys writing poetry and contemplating world domination with friends.

Jennifer Anderson is a senior in Computer Information Systems.  She is from Cambridge, NY and Peru, NY.  Jennifer says that someday, using her knowledge of computers and radio, she’s hoping to make a career in radio.  It’s her belief that “Every truly great accomplishment is at first impossible.”

Geoff Arbuckle was one of only two pioneer producers of Radio Saint Rose working during July and August 2006 to help ready the station and the course.

Shari Blanchard As an amateur ballroom dancer myself, it amazes me that children between the ages of 10 and 12 can learn a tantalizing tango or a whimsical waltz.   Even though I will be interning in Proctor’s Theater promotions department this semester, I will continue to be a part of the Dance Crazy organization. I have volunteered as a teacher’s assistant at the Coeyman’s Elementary School.

Melanie Boyce is a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose. She is an early childhood/special education major with a concentration in English. She graduated from Victor High School in 2006. She plans on opening her own preschool in Dansville, New York after she finishes her own education.

A senior at Saint Rose, Erek Brewer is a Public Communication major.  Hailing from the Berkshires, Massachusetts, Erek swims for the Golden Knights and is an avid filmmaker and photographer.  Upon graduation Erek plans to pursue a career in the film industry as an editor.

Dana Brown grew up in Elmont , New York  and came to Albany to attend The College of Saint Rose with a major in Public Communications. She is expected to graduate in May 2009 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts. She is also a member of the Golden Knights women's basketball.

Heather Brown  I am a senior and a Communications major here at St. Rose.  I will be graduating in May with a BA and interning in NYC this summer.  After completing my independent study on Designing Magazine Covers, fashion magazines became a passion and I hope to turn it into a successful career.

Abigail Bull is a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose majoring in Public Communications. She grew up in nearby Waterford, NY and plans to move far away from Albany after graduation. Abbey enjoys traveling to concerts and writing and would like to combine the two for a career someday. In her free time she likes to paint, draw, spend time with her family and friends and read magazines.

Francesca Bruno will be graduating from Saint Rose in December 2007.  She has always had a penchant for writing.  Since 2005, she’s worked as a morning news producer for WAMC Radio, which has made her an even bigger information junkie.

Dana Camacho is currently (2007) a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose where she is working on her major in Public Communications while pursuing a minor in Business Administration. Though she was born in Lakewood, New Jersey she moved to Orlando, Florida with her family when she was 6. In the fall of 2006 Dana migrated north to Albany, NY searching for bigger and better things at The College of Saint Rose. Once completing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to work for a news station, but doesn’t know exactly what title she would like to someday hold.

Tom Caprood is a senior majoring in public communications. He has had articles published in The Chronicle, a letter to the editor in the Times Union, and will intern at a local newspaper in the fall of 2007.

James Carusone is a senior majoring in Public Communications with a minor in Political Science.  He plans to intern with a local media company for the Fall 2007 semester before graduating in December.

Producer Rob Chacon covers both in-studio productions and field recordings of guest lecturers on campus.  Born in Guatemala, he moved with his parents to Albany in 1989.  He is a communications major and hopes to work in television or radio.

Corinne Chester  I grew up in a small town called Broadalbin, located near Sacandaga Lake.  I graduated from Broadalbin-Perth High School in 2002 and furthered my studies at Fulton-Montgomery Community College where I graduated in 2004 with my Associate of Arts Degree.  I am studying Communication here at St. Rose and I plan to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in May 2007.

Adrianne Cisek, 22, is a senior English major at The College of Saint Rose, graduating in May of 2007. She plans on earning her master’s degree in Secondary Education, and hopes to get a job teaching at a middle school.  She is an assistant ballet teacher and a lyrical ballet teacher at the Willoughby-Noble School of Dance, in Amsterdam, NY.

Michael Clemente of Waterford, NY is a graduating senior. He began at The College of Saint Rose with aspirations of being a teacher. One year in he took a journalism class and switched to a major in Public Communications. He also at this point joined the student newspaper, The Chronicle, as a staff writer.  Since that time he has held a position as a section editor for the features section.  This year he is the managing editor of the paper and shares leadership duties with Alyson Martin.  Michael has also interned at both weekly and daily publications and even covered the Porco murder trial, a national story.

Katelyn Corey  I grew up in Wallkill, New York, and spent most of my time with my best friend, Alicia, who was my neighbor all through high school. I graduated in 2005 looking to pursue a degree in Communications, in hopes of one day starting my own advertising business. I’m currently a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose, and I participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program my first two semesters here.

Brittany Cosman, from Newburgh, NY is now a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose.  She is a public communications major and hopes to someday work at a major magazine or perhaps a newspaper.  She has a twin sister and a younger brother.  She spends her time reading as much as she can.

Kyle Derkowski is a sophomore Communications major.  He is also pursuing a minor in Computer Information Systems.  In addition to taking a full course load, Kyle works part-time at as a teleprompter at NBC-affiliate WNYT.  Kyle grew up in Princetown, New York and graduated from Schalmont High School in 2005.  He enjoys fishing, listening to good music, and spending time with friends and family.

Anthony Desso I am a senior and I’ll be graduating this semester with a Bachelor’s in Public Communications. I work in Market Research for the film industry. As the general manger for the company Entertainment Works, I look forward to a long career in marketing.

Christie DiLorenzo is a junior, originally from Syracuse, NY. Within the upcoming year she plans to complete her communications degree. After graduation she hopes to be accepted into the College Student Services Administration (CSSA) graduate program at Saint Rose. Christie has enjoyed her semester working on the design team and writing staff for the 2007 Sphere Magazine.

Jared Dixon is a communications major and plans to graduate in 2010. Jared grew up in the teeming metropolis of Ticonderoga, NY; where he directed documentaries on the absence of morals in present day journalists. He enjoys the sport of basketball, hiking and philosophizing in cabins deep in the Adirondack woods. After graduating from Saint Rose, Jared hopes to go to law school to eventually help keep lawless journalists in check. He often dreams of retiring in the Alaskan wilderness to live with grizzly bears.

Brittany Douglass is a Junior year Transfer student majoring in Speech Pathology, with a minor in Communications. Hobbies include photography, music, snowboarding, and home decorating.

Brittany Edwards of Johnstown, NY graduated from Johnstown in 2004. She then furthered her studies at Fulton Montgomery Community College where she earned an Associates in Applied Science. She is now studying to earn her B.A. in early childhood education. She plans to graduate from the College of Saint Rose in December 2008. After graduating from Saint Rose, she intends to earn a master’s degree and teach as an elementary school teacher around the area of Fulton or Montgomery County.

Louis Emory grew up in the Sycaway area of Troy and graduated from La Salle Institute in 2002. He is a Communications major and senior at The College of Saint Rose. He's been published in The Chronicle, The Record, the Times Union and Sphere Magazine.

Kathryn Ferrara is a second semester junior at The College of Saint Rose. She plans to graduate in May of  2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education and a concentration in English. After that, she intends to move home to Mahopac, NY, which is approximately one hour north of New York City. There, she plans to get her Master’s degree and teach first or second grade. In the summers, she works as the Assistant Director of a day camp. Aside from working with children, Kathryn enjoys writing, music, and photography.

Kyle Griffin is a junior Communications major at the College of Saint Rose also with a minor in English. Originally from North Greenbush, NY, after graduation in May 2008, Kyle hopes to work in either broadcast or print journalism. Kyle is the current Arts and Entertainment Editor for The Chronicle, Saint Rose’s student newspaper.
STORY

Dan Grskovic was born and raised in Queens, New York. He attended Holy Cross High School where he graduated in the top 10% of his class in 2004. Dan is a hip-hop enthusiast who enjoys researching its history in his spare time. He is currently a junior at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, where he is pursuing a degree in Communications.

Sarah Hamilton grew up on a small farm in Palmyra, New York. She is a Communication major. She is a 10-year member of the 4-H program.  Acting as a teen leader has given her the courage to talk in front of people and on the radio. Sarah is enjoying the learning process of radio programming and hopes to put it to use in the future.

Randy Hernandez, from New York City is a senior Communications major with aspirations of getting into print and broadcast journalism after graduation in May 2007.  He also writes for the student newspaper, The Chronicle, and is a Resident Assistant, and Vice President for Communications for the Student Association.

Tanner Holford is a junior majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Communication. He was born and raised in Albany, NY finds this city to be his home with family and close friends. Holford hopes to find a job in the Capital Region using his talents to create advertisements, product design, and design web pages. In his spare time he enjoys going to the movies and out to dinner with friends on the weekends.

Jamie Hopper is a Junior communications major at The College of Saint Rose. She was raised in Kingston NY and attended William Paterson University (NJ) before coming to Saint Rose this spring. After graduation in 2008 she hopes to work in Music Television putting her communications and music industry knowledge to use.

Dan Hotz is a junior at the College of Saint Rose. Though he was born at St. Peters hospital right in Albany, he was raised in Rensselaer, NY. Being able to hear is Dan’s favorite sense, and he generally applies that sense to listening to different types of music. Dan plans to pursue a career within radio production or hosting.

Tabitha Jones   I'm from Buffalo, New York.  My major is Communications (I love to talk).  After I graduate I would like to go into television or radio.  Back home I used to host a public access television show that targeted a teen audience. That helped me develop a real passion for broadcasting.

Melissa Kees grew up in the very small town of Shaftsbury Vermont. Kees’ first year of college remained close to home as she attended Southern Vermont College , about fifteen minutes from where she grew up. Kees played for Southern Vermont’s basketball and volleyball teams but when it came time to transfer she had made the decision based on Saint Rose’s academic credibility. Now a junior at The College of Saint Rose Kees is majoring in Public Communications and hopes to graduate in May 2009 and looks forward to a career in Public Relations.

Stephen King is from the real Orange County (NY) and has pioneered as the host of numerous episodes of the Golden Knights Athletics program on Internet Radio Saint Rose. 

Elizabeth Knapp is a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose majoring in Communications with a minor in English. She grew up in the rolling green hills of East Fishkill, NY where she enjoyed reading, competitive board game playing, and a good cup of Joe. She hopes to put both her passion for writing and communication skills to use someday by writing for a magazine, after traveling the world.

Lisa Konkel is a Communications Major and recipient of the 2007 Communications Department Service and Appreciation Award for her work in producing Public Service Announcements about Black History Month.

Amy LaGrange is a junior at The College of Saint Rose. She is studying Special Education and Elementary Education with a concentration in English. Amy grew up locally in Feura BushNew York where she attended Bethlehem H.S. After graduation, Amy went to Ithaca College to study Therapeutic Recreation when she realized, after two short semesters her true passion: education. Amy hopes to not only teach but also to write children’s books.  Her passions include working with and learning about people with disabilities, with a firm enthusiasm on Down syndrome.

Todd Lemak graduated from Fort Plain Junior Senior High School in 2002, after graduation he attended Herkimer County Community College were he received his applied arts and science associates degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting.  Todd's goal in the communication field is to become a sportscaster, on the local level first then the national level.  Todd also enjoys doing play-by-play for college sporting events.

Jennifer Levine a hometown native of the Albany Area is currently a Public Communications major at The College of Saint Rose. When Jennifer is not working on pieces for her journalism class she is cheering on the sidelines for the Golden Knights basketball teams. With hopes of finishing her undergraduate education in 2009, Jennifer plans to continue on to graduate school and future her education in the Public Commutations Field.

Clayton Longmire is a senior communications major at The College of Saint Rose and a member of the men’s basketball team. Clayton is from Rochester, NY where he graduated from Gates Chili High school. Clayton has aspirations to work in sports broadcast and maybe even get into coaching one day.

Jake Lustick is a junior Public Communications major who grew up in Voorheesville, New York .  He transferred to Saint Rose from SUNY Fredonia after his freshman year.  He hopes to turn his passions of sports and writing into a career in sports journalism.

Keri Lynch was born and raised in Albany, New York where she has been educated through three local schools.  She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. Although she is small in stature she is very competitive and loves sports.  She is currently a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose majoring in English with a minor in Communications. STORY

Maegan Lynch  I grew up in a small town in Westchester, New York, graduating from Yorktown High School in 2005. Originally I was a Graphic Design major, however now I am pursuing a degree in Communications and with a concentration in Spanish. I am very comfortable working with people. I used to work at a local video store for five years and now am a lifeguard during the summer in Mohegan Lake, New York. I plan on taking Interior Design courses during the summer as well. I also very much enjoy listening to music and spending time with my family and friends. STORY

Alyson Lyons is a junior at the College of Saint Rose. Born and raised on eastern Long Island, she has attended private schools her entire life. Majoring in English with a minor in writing, her true passion is literature. She plans on getting her masters and PhD in the literary or educational field after traveling to Europe upon graduation. Lyons volunteers her time at the Red Cross Center in Colonie. Her hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, and watching sports.

Kaitlyn Malloy, from Wallkill, NY is a junior Public Communications major. After graduation in December of 2008, she plans to pursue a career in public relations or advertising in New York City. She is a member of Upsilon Iota and writes for The Chronicle. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling and going out with friends. In the future, she plans to get a master’s in Communication Design.

Alyson Martin is a senior Public Communications major, looking forward to pursuing a career in journalism. She is the Executive Editor of The Chronicle, the weekly student newspaper at Saint Rose. She has held several other positions at the paper, but continues to find writing most fulfilling. Alyson was also a producer for Radio Saint Rose, and the editor of The Sphere, the Saint Rose student magazine. In her spare time, Alyson enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and spending time with her family

Cecelia Martinez was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and grew up in Saginaw , Michigan before coming to Albany, NY to attend The College of Saint Rose as a Communications major and Music Industry minor.  She became interested in journalism as part of the International Press Corp at the Michigan State Model UN Conference in high school.  Vice-president of the English Club, Cecelia also participates in the Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) and Girls Next Door, a female a capella singing group.  In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her miniature dachshund and consuming music in any way possible.  She plans to one day go into music magazine journalism or publicity writing for an independent record company.

Caroline Massey   I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and right now I’m finishing up my junior year at the College of Saint Rose. I’m currently interning in the marketing department of Thomson Learning, and am planning on interning at a fashion PR firm in Manhattan in the summer. My ultimate goal is to move to Manhattan to work in the fashion PR industry after I graduate from Saint Rose in December 2007.

Ciara McCann is a junior at The College of Saint Rose.  She is majoring in Communications with plans to someday either work in Public Relations or at a magazine.  She is from Gloversville, NY, a small town northwest of Albany.  In her free time she likes to read, go to concerts, write, and spend time with friends.

Tara McDonald was born and raised in Schenectady , New York . She is a junior at The College of Saint Rose and is majoring in Public Communications with a minor in Spanish. She is also a current member of Upsilon Iota - the Communications Honor Society. She hopes to pursue a career in television production or the public relations industry after she graduates in May of 2009.

Kaysie Memmer  I am currently a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose. I grew up in the small town of Washingtonville New York within Orange County. I am a Communications major and a minor in English. I first became interested in this major after taking a few classes in high school and different courses here at Saint Rose. I am still unsure what I want to do with my major but I am looking towards Public Relations. I enjoy hanging out with my friends as much as possible.

Joey Menz was born and raised in Milford, Massachusetts where it is impossible to avoid the hoopla surrounding the Boston Red Sox. Because of that he is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management.  Joey has written an opinion column for the Saint Rose newspaper The Chronicle for three years and he will graduate in May 2007. After graduating he plans on pursuing a career with a professional sports organization.

Brandy Metott is a senior at the College of Saint Rose .  She is majoring in English and pursuing a minor in Communications.  She is from Ilion , New York which is a small town west of Albany .  Finding her minor more interesting than her major she hopes to pursue a journalism or marketing career with the American Quarter Horse Association in Forth Worth, Texas.

Jason Moreno is a communication major at The College of Saint Rose. Born in the Bronx and raised in New Jersey, I have always dreamed of working in the movie industry. Last summer I worked on my first feature film, "Made for Eachother," which was an amazing experience. While working on "Made for Eachother," I was an intern who was also in charge of working with extras. I am currently working on random projects all through out  New York , and hope to some day make it big.

Kyle Moore is born and raised in Albany, New York. He is currently majoring in Public Communications and plans to graduate in 2008.

Katie Morgans is a senior communications major at Saint Rose. She was raised in South Jersey before coming to school in Albany, New York. After graduation in May 2007 she hopes to work production or advertising.

Lyndsay Murdock is originally from Black River, New York.  She’s a junior Communications major focusing on Media Production at Saint Rose.  She plans on graduating in the spring of 2008 and then finding a career in video editing or web design.

Dan Murphy is a Public Communications major from Albany, NY in his junior year. He intends on graduating in the spring semester of 2009. An avid writer, Murphy plans to seek a career in sports journalism after graduation. Dan currently covers Golden Knights games for The Chronicle.

Aprille Nason is originally from Walpole , New Hampshire .  She is a senior English major at The College of Saint Rose and expects to graduate in May of 2008.  She would like to pursue a career in editing or publishing.  In her free time she likes to spend time with her friends, go to concerts, and read.

Ashley Nolan is a senior at The College of Saint Rose.  She is from the small town of South Glens Falls, NY and graduated in 2004, ninth in her class.  She is a psychology major who is presently pursuing a minor in writing.  Ashley, a member of the Psi Chi psychology national honor society, proudly presented her research at the 2007 annual Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) conference in Philadelphia.  In the fall of 2006 Ashley studied at Bond University in Australia.  Ashley aspires to find a job which combines psychology and her love for writing.  STORY 1   STORY 2

Danielle O’Malley , from Wallkill NY , is a sophomore Public Communications major with hopes of a career in Public Relations after graduation. Her first interest in communications came about when she took the New Visions Communications and Journalism class, which is part of Ulster County Boces. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her family, boyfriend, and friends.

Brian O'Rourke

Chris Osborne  I was born and raised in upstate New York and moved to South Carolina around the age of 15.  I moved back to New York around the age of 20 and graduated from Fulton-Montgomery Community College with an A.S. in Applied Science.  After a stint at SUNY Albany as an Information Science major I came to The College of Saint Rose as a Public Communications Major where I am expected to graduate in May of 2008.  I have a love for the arts, particularly music, literature, and paintings.  I’m still unsure as to where I’m heading in life and I have no problem with that.  What I do know, however, is that the possibilities are limitless. John Passantino, 20, is a Communications major who plans to graduate in 2010. Born in Rhinebeck, NY and raised in Shandaken, Passantino's ultimate goal is to film marine life in the wild, specifically sharks. He has spent countless hours in and around the ocean and has always been extremely interested from a young age. Passantino plans on traveling around Europe in the spring of 2008 and also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Zachary Peterson  I grew up in the small village of Montgomery, New York. I am a Business major at the College of Saint Rose, with a minor in Communications, and I plan on graduating with a Bachelor’s degree and then continuing on to graduate school to further my studies in marketing and management. I have a love for sports, and I care deeply about those who are close to me. I hope to finish my college career in 2009 and go on to bigger and better things. I want to possibly run my own business someday, and have many people working for me.

Brian Pierce, more commonly known as Tucker to his peers, is a junior at Saint Rose. He is originally from Corning, NY, and moved permanently to Albany in 2007. Originally a Social Studies Education major, he recently switched to Public Communications in order to pursue his interests in advertising. 

Annabel Polanco I am a senior at the College of Saint Rose. I transferred to the College of Saint Rose my sophomore year from Boston University and will be graduating from the college this December 2006 with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Business Administration. After graduation I hope to pursue a master’s degree in Television Production. I did an internship this past summer at a television station in Sydney , Australia and hope to continue working in that field.

Jason Politi was born the second of four boys in Newburgh, NY, where he’s lived his whole life.  He came to Saint Rose on a swimming scholarship and studies Public Communications and has aspirations of becoming a broadcast journalist.

Meaghan Polson is from Wilton, New Hampshire majoring in English. She has been active in communications since high school where she wrote weekly articles for a local newspaper. She continues to write and is currently a Copy Editor for the College of Saint Rose student newspaper, The Chronicle.

Michelle Post  I am a junior at the College of Saint Rose, and I intend to graduate after the spring 2007 semester. I’m majoring in Interdepartmental studies, with a communications and education focus. Currently, I’m working at Mary Jane Books and living in Albany. I’m originally from Eagle Bridge, a small town by the border of Bennington, Vermont, and I intend to remain an Albany resident for an undetermined amount of time.

Victoria Pray  I am a native of Norwood, Massachusetts.  I am going into the second semester of my junior year, majoring in Communications. After graduation I plan to move home to Boston with my older sister Wendy who will graduate this year from Stonehill College with a degree in Communications as well. I would like to work in Public Relations.  I am also considering graduate school, or studying abroad and perhaps a year of bumming it on the couch eating cake and watching Jerry Springer before I enter the real world.

Jeannielle Ramirez  I'm a senior majoring in Public Communications. You will usually find me hooked up to my ipod in Lima Lab. Things I love: Spanish music, spicy foods, and literature.
 
Pat Ryan is a senior Business Administration major at The College of Saint Rose. He is from Voorheesville, NY where he attended Clayton A. Bouton Jr.-Sr. high school. He enjoys snowboarding every day he has free. Pat enjoys traveling, and looks forward to getting involved in a career that will allow him to see many interesting places.
 
John Salka III is from Washingtonville, NY. He is majoring in history/political science, a local Albany musician, and a heavy metal aficionado. John plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in education following his spring 2007 graduation.

Jillian Sargent I am a senior communications major, originally from Oxford, MA. I am graduating in May and a week later moving to Los Angeles, CA.

Morgan Schutz is a senior at The College of Saint Rose majoring in Communication Science Disorders and minoring in English with a concentration in writing.  Originally from Pine Bush, N.Y., she initially came to Saint Rose as a sophomore to join the Golden Knights Swimming and Diving team.  She plans to continue her studies in New York City after graduation in May 2008, and hopes to work in the field of accent reduction and possibly dabble in print journalistic ventures as well.

Michael William Schwartz is a senior at The College of Saint Rose. Born and raised in Schenectady, New York, Michael plans to become a journalist with a concentration in photography and magazine writing. Michael has also played ice hockey for the Saint Rose Ice Knights.

Jeff Seitz  I am a communications major at the college. My hobbies are computers, video games, cartoons, and reading. I first got interested in this course because I enjoy doing production work. I also like the responsibility of being a producer and having to get things done on a regular schedule. I greatly enjoy this class. I also think I’ve found a good direction for a future career.

Stephanie Silber I’m a full time student with an internship as a Marketing Assistant at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. After graduation in December 2006, I plan to remain in Albany until May 2007 searching for a job.  Having been abroad on the Gold Coast of Australia for the spring 2006 semester. I fell in love with living in a touristy area and feel that it’s what my future should hold.  Although I’m not certain as to what area of public communications I should enter, Public Relations and Advertising are appealing to me.

Meaghan Snyder is a senior at Saint Rose College .  Meaghan is working toward achieving her Early Childhood and Special education degree; she plans on majoring in Literacy and working with younger children.  Born and raised in Bethlehem, New York she works at a day care in Slingerlands.

Ashley Teater is currently a junior at The College of Saint Rose, majoring in Public Communications.  Ms. Teater hopes to one day work behind the scenes in television production.  A resident of Syracuse, she graduated prom queen and class clown from Cicero North Syracuse High School in 2005. Ashley spends most of her time being a Resident Assistant here at Saint Rose, but in her free time she enjoys shopping, spending time with friends, and working on her physique at none other than Saint Rose’s gym.

Raquel Thompson is a junior from Albany , New York . He is a public communication major with the intent of working as a sports broadcaster. Before coming to Saint Rose, he went to school at SUNY Cobleskill and graduated with an associates in communication. Thompson is on the track and field team and loves sports. His favorite quote is from Nelly's song Heart Of A Champion "Come look into the eyes I say, of a man with more heart than hallmark on Valentines Day."

Ali Trovillion grew up in Wantage, New Jersey and came to Albany to study Public Communications and Music Industry. She hopes that the combination of these two areas will land her a position as a journalist or in public relations in the Music Industry. She loves traveling, sports, and music. She intends to study abroad in London, England in the fall of 2007.

Alex Tunney was born in New Hyde Park on Long Island , NY . He is currently a junior at Saint Rose with plans to graduate in December 2008. He is an English major with a minor in Writing. He hopes to go on into the field of editing or publishing, continue his education in graduate school, be a freelance journalist and perhaps write the next great American novel in his spare time. Maybe. He is a staff writer for The Chronicle, and is the secretary for the college’s English Club.

Christina Tygert is a sophomore at The College of Saint Rose where she is pursuing her dual degree in Child Development and Special Education in hopes of becoming an elementary teacher.  She grew up in the small rural town of Princetown, NY and graduated in 2005 from Schalmont High School.  Christina enjoys cheerleading, mentoring, snowboarding, waterskiing with Scotia's US Waterski Show Team, camping and spending time with her family.

My name is Genevieve Valenti and I’m from Windham , New York . I’m currently finishing my junior year in the communications department at The College of Saint Rose. I’m finishing up classes in the spring, and then plan on doing an internship in New York City this summer.

Lou Vandenbergh I am a senior, graduating in May 07' with a bachelor’s degree in Public Communications. I enjoy writing, reading, and anything to do with music. I look forward to working in the music industry or in marketing where my talents with communication can be used.


My name is Nick Van Vorst. I’m from Burnt Hills and commute to Saint Rose. I am a junior transfer student in my second semester and play baseball for the Saint Rose team.  I decided to take communications with the hope of someday becoming a sports broadcaster.

Samantha Weyant is a 21-year-old junior at The College of Saint Rose. She is an Assistant Manager at a local sports store and plans to attend Albany Law School after graduation. Weyant is from Delmar, New York and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys playing sports and writing poetry.

Malcolm Williams moved to Schenectady, New York in 2000 after living in Brooklyn, NY for the first 13 years of his life. IAfter graduating from Schenectady High, his athletic prowess earned him several athletic scholarships. He chose The College of Saint Rose to stay close to his mother.  Williams is interest in writing was sparked when the Times Union chose him to write for its Blue Page Edition on Schenectady Basketball his junior year of high school. A Communications major, Williams plans on pursuing a career in sports journalism after graduation in 2010. STORY

Lara Williamson is a Capital Region resident and a junior in the Communications Program at The College of Saint Rose. After graduation in May 2008 she aspires to work in public relations in New York City. Lara has also been a staff writer for the student newspaper The Chronicle. With a passion for music and entertainment news, she hopes to someday work in these industries.

Kristina Zabinski I grew up in the Albany suburb of Guilderland. After graduating from Guilderland High School in 2005, I decided to come to The College of Saint Rose to pursue a career in Communications, focusing on Public Relations.  After I graduate in May of 2009, I hope to attend Syracuse University to obtain my Masters.  I would love to work for a PR firm after my masters and hopefully become a publicist in the city in the years to come.  I have a passion for the entertainment industry especially in fashion and music. My perfect dream would to be a publicist for a fashion mogul or master musician.

Matt Zaloga  I'm a junior, and expect to be graduating May 2008.  I live in Feura Bush, New York.  I hope to have a career which will involve some kind of writing, whether it be journalism, magazine writing, or any other kind.

Maggie Zmuda was one of only two pioneer producers of Radio Saint Rose working during July and August 2006 to help ready the station and the course.
