Spring 2007 Producers

Dan Grskovic was born and raised in Queens, New York. He attended Holy Cross High School where he graduated in the top 10% of his class in 2004. Dan is a hip-hop enthusiast who enjoys researching its history in his spare time. He is currently a junior at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, where he is pursuing a degree in Communications. Pat Ryan is a senior Business Administration major at The College of Saint Rose. He is from Voorheesville, NY where he attended Clayton A. Bouton Jr.-Sr. high school. He enjoys snowboarding every day he has free. Pat enjoys traveling, and looks forward to getting involved in a career that will allow him to see many interesting places.

Dan Hotz is a junior at the College of Saint Rose. Though he was born at St. Peters hospital right in Albany, he was raised in Rensselaer, NY. Being able to hear is Dan’s favorite sense, and he generally applies that sense to listening to different types of music. Dan plans to pursue a career within radio production or hosting.

Jamie Hopper is a Junior communications major at The College of Saint Rose. She was raised in Kingston NY and attended William Paterson University (NJ) before coming to Saint Rose this spring. After graduation in 2008 she hopes to work in Music Television putting her communications and music industry knowledge to use.

Kyle Griffin is a junior Communications major at the College of Saint Rose also with a minor in English. Originally from North Greenbush, NY, after graduation in May 2008, Kyle hopes to work in either broadcast or print journalism. Kyle is the current Arts and Entertainment Editor for The Chronicle, Saint Rose’s student newspaper.

I am a communications major at the college. My hobbies are computers, video games, cartoons, and reading. I first got interested in this course because I enjoy doing production work. I also like the responsibility of being a producer and having to get things done on a regular schedule. I greatly enjoy this class. I also think I’ve found a good direction for a future career.
Kyle Derkowski is a sophomore Communications major.  He is also pursuing a minor in Computer Information Systems.  In addition to taking a full course load, Kyle works part-time at as a teleprompter at NBC-affiliate WNYT.  Kyle grew up in Princetown, New York and graduated from Schalmont High School in 2005.  He enjoys fishing, listening to good music, and spending time with friends and family. My name is Nick Van Vorst. I’m from Burnt Hills and commute to Saint Rose. I am a junior transfer student in my second semester and play baseball for the Saint Rose team.  I decided to take communications with the hope of someday becoming a sports broadcaster.
Todd Lemak is a junior at the College of Saint Rose.  He graduated from Fort Plain JSHS in 2002, after graduation he attended Herkimer County Community College were he received his associates degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting.  Todd's goal is to become a sportscaster.

Clayton Longmire is a senior communications major at The College of Saint Rose and a member of the men’s basketball team. Clayton is from Rochester, NY where he graduated from Gates Chili High school. Clayton has aspirations to work in sports broadcast and maybe even get into coaching one day.

Sarah Hamilton grew up on a small farm in Palmyra, New York. She is a Communication major. She is a 10-year member of the 4-H program.  Acting as a teen leader has given her the courage to talk in front of people and on the radio. Sarah is enjoying the learning process of radio programming and hopes to put it to use in the future.

Michael William Schwartz is a senior at The College of Saint Rose. Born and raised in Schenectady, New York, Michael plans to become a journalist with a concentration in photography and magazine writing. Michael has also played ice hockey for the Saint Rose Ice Knights.

A senior at Saint Rose, Erek Brewer is a Public Communication major.  Hailing from the Berkshires, Massachusetts, Erek swims for the Golden Knights and is an avid filmmaker and photographer.  Upon graduation Erek plans to pursue a career in the film industry as an editor.

Melissa Kees grew up in the small town of Shaftsbury Vermont and graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 2005. She completed her freshman year of college at Southern Vermont and in August 2006 was accepted as a transfer student to the College of Saint Rose, where she is currently a sophomore majoring in public communications.

Fall 2006 Producers

John Salka is from Washingtonville, NY. He is majoring in history/political science, a local Albany musician, and a heavy metal aficionado. John plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in education following his spring 2007 graduation.

Alyson Martin is a senior and active with the student newspaper The Chronicle since her freshman year.  She is now the Executive Editor.  She was also a field reporter for the student-produced cable television show The Saint Rose Show, and Executive Editor of The Sphere, a student-produced magazine.  Alyson is interested in broadcast journalism after graduation.
Jennifer Anderson is a senior in Computer Information Systems.  She is from Cambridge, NY and Peru, NY.  Jennifer says that someday, using her knowledge of computers and radio, she’s hoping to make a career in radio.  It’s her belief that “Every truly great accomplishment is at first impossible.” 

Producer Rob Chacon covers both in-studio productions and field recordings of guest lecturers on campus.  Born in Guatemala, he moved with his parents to Albany in 1989.  He is a communications major and hopes to work in television or radio.

Katie Morgans is a senior communications major at Saint Rose. She was raised in South Jersey before coming to school in Albany, New York. After graduation in May 2007 she hopes to work production or advertising. Meaghan Polson is from Wilton, New Hampshire majoring in English. She has been active in communications since high school where she wrote weekly articles for a local newspaper. She continues to write and is currently a Copy Editor for the College of Saint Rose student newspaper, The Chronicle.

Randy Hernandez, from New York City is a senior Communications major with aspirations of getting into print and broadcast journalism after graduation in May 2007.  He also writes for the student newspaper, The Chronicle, and is a Resident Assistant, and Vice President for Communications for the Student Association.

Lara Williamson is a Capital Region resident and a junior in the Communications Program at The College of Saint Rose. After graduation in May 2008 she aspires to work in public relations in New York City. Lara has also been a staff writer for the student newspaper The Chronicle. With a passion for music and entertainment news, she hopes to someday work in these industries.
Tabitha Jones   I'm from Buffalo, New York.  My major is Communications (I love to talk).  After I graduate I would like to go into television or radio.  Back home I used to host a public access television show that targeted a teen audience. That helped me develop a real passion for broadcasting.

Pioneer Producers
Geoff Arbuckle and Maggie Zmuda were our first two producers at the station working during July and August 2006 to help ready the station and the course.
